Woking & Horsell Football Club - History!

Woking and Horsell Football Club (WHFC) has been in existence in its present guise since 1990. In that year two local football clubs Woking Park, founded 1972, and Horsell, founded 1921, merged together in order to compete at a higher level. Since the amalgamation the club has run three Saturday teams, the firsts and reserves playing in the Surrey Intermediate League whilst the third team play in the Guildford and Woking Alliance league. The club also has a veteran’s team who play their fixtures on a Sunday morning. WHFC has enjoyed success in these leagues with the firsts and seconds becoming league champions in 2000/2001 as well as numerous cup final victories including the Surrey County Cup in 2005.

The club affiliated with Woking Cougars in 2005 in order to provide a path into senior football for the youth teams

The club on average signs around 70 players for the season the majority of which are from the surrounding area and whose ages range from 15 years up to 48 years old. WHFC train twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:30 at their ground, which is shared with Woking and Horsell Cricket Club, at Brewery Road, Horsell.

The club can also boast the distinction of being the last FA affiliated football club to play under the twin towers of Wembley.
